Well, we all know technology is ever changing and the internet is a big part of the newest things. I found something interesting recently, house swapping!! We know there are many more sellers than buyers and sellers are having trouble moving their homes. At first I wrote this off as being too limited to be useful. But if you think about it a little deeper, it just may be the answer for some people. Consider this; there are many people forced to relocate because of a new job and have a home to sell so they can make the move and even locally their are older sellers who are looking to move to something smaller while younger buyers are looking to move up in a home. Yes, it is a long shot that you will find a perfect match....but if you do then 2 sellers are very satisfied. The most user friedly of the web sites I know is www.GoSwap.org. More limited and less user friendly are onlinehousetrading. com, domuswap.com, daytonahometrader.com and of course craigslist.com. Might be worth a try if you fit into either of the situations above. I would still suggest if you find something along this line that you still consult an agent to be sure things are handled according to the law and you are both protected to some extent. I think an agent would handle and assit in this transaction for a small fee. The other way to handle it would be through a real estate attorney. I'm not sure which would be cheaper, but I certainly would suggest you get one of the other.
